The 2020 UEFA European Football Championship is set to celebrate it's 60th anniversary in style, taking place across 12 cities, featuring Europe's biggest teams in a showcase tournament that's got global appeal.

When is Euro 2020?

12 June 2020 until 12 July 2020

The 16th European Championships will take place from 12 June 2020 until 12 July 2020.

Taking place every 4 years the first tournament took place in 1960, hosted in France and won by the Soviet Union.

Where is Euro 2020 ?

Unlike previous European Championships that are held in a single country, the 2020 event will take place across 12 cities spanning the continent to celebrate the tournaments 60th anniversary. The 12 host cities and stadiums include:

Opening Match

Rome's Stadio Olimpico will host the opening match on Friday 12 June, while England's national stadium Wembley will stage both semi-finals and the final.

Who's Qualified?

20 teams have already secured their spot at Euro 2020 including international giants Germany, France, Portugal, England and Spain, another 4 are yet to be decided through play-off games scheduled to take place in March 2020 which will finalise the 2020 line-up.

Qualified teams and their groups:

• Group A: Turkey, Italy, Wales, Switzerland
• Group B: Denmark, Finland, Belgium, Russia
• Group C: Netherlands, Ukraine, Austria, play-off winner D
• Group D: England, Croatia, play-off winner C, Czech Republic
• Group E: Spain, Sweden, Poland, play-off winner B
• Group F: play-off winner A, Portugal, France, Germany

Euro 2020 schedule

Each host city will stage three group matches, which are set to take place between June 12 and June 24.#

The host cities have been paired off for the group stages:

• Group A: Rome and Baku
• Group B: Saint Petersburg and Copenhagen
• Group C: Amsterdam and Bucharest
• Group D: London and Glasgow
• Group E: Bilbao and Dublin
• Group F: Munich and Budapest
The top two teams will qualify from each group reaching the knockout stages, as well as the four best third-placed teams. The knockouts will take place from 27 June until the final taking place at Wembley Stadium on Sunday 12 July 2020.

Who's going to Win?

According to bookies the ever consistent Germany, the golden generation of Belgium stars and European heavyweights Spain are neck and neck but could home advantage of the semi's and final taking place in England give the 3-lions the opportunity to win their first-ever European Championship and first trophy since 1966? You'll have to wait until July to find out.
